Anders Jones, Founder and CEO, Facet Wealth

Since founding the company in 2016, Anders has set the tempo for Facet’s strategy and growth, taking Facet from a nascent tech start-up to a rapidly-growing force in the wealth management industry. Anders’ vision of a forward-looking financial services firm, built solely to serve the mass affluent, was instrumental in raising a cumulative $40 million of venture capital from Warburg Pincus and Slow Ventures.

As the CEO, Anders leads a team of 73, consisting of CFP® Professionals, software engineers, and industry executives. He made a specific decision to base the firm in Baltimore (and moved here from San Francisco in order to found Facet), tapping into both the region’s considerable fintech talent pool. His leadership has attracted top talent from industry heavyweights like Pershing, Vanguard, T. Rowe Price, and Charles Schwab, who see in Facet a potential game-changer for the delivery of financial planning and a responsible solution for clients who might otherwise be denied much-needed help with their financial lives.

Anders was the driving force behind creating a unique business model to address a vast potential market of clients who could not otherwise access traditionally-delivered financial planning. Facet employs disruptive technology and flat subscription fees to increase the efficiency and capacity of its advisors, while also serving as a partner to other financial firms that seek to clarify their ideal client profiles and create their own opportunities for growth, valuation and capacity.

Additionally, Anders is a proponent and cultivator of Baltimore’s startup ecosystem, and a believer that innovation is not restricted to one geographical area. He has fused Facet’s Silicon Valley DNA with the advantages and resources of the Baltimore region, and encourages other regional entrepreneurs to follow suit. He serves as mentor-in-residence at Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures and continues to invest in numerous tech companies outside of Silicon Valley.

Anders got his start in Silicon Valley in 2009 in the midst of the Great Recession, as employee #8 at LiveRamp (NYSE: RAMP). Anders spent 12 years in Silicon Valley as an early-stage investor focused on seeding innovation in emerging entrepreneurial markets, gaining a wide perspective as he invested in and managed start-ups in adjacent industries including fintech, adtech, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing.

Anders holds a BA from Stanford University and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
