Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid defended pop superstar Taylor Swift, the girlfriend of tight end Travis Kelce, after she was booed by fans at Caesars Superdome during the Super Bowl LIX.

“She’s a good girl,” Reid said while speaking to ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio and Chris Simms at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis on Tuesday (February 25). “She handles that whole thing the right way, that’s a tough deal. But she does a great job with of handling it. Kelce, I think, does a great job with handling it.

“She’s part of the team and like the other girlfriends and wives, they’re part of it. And that’s all part of the process.”

Swift appeared to be caught off guard by the negative response, mouthing, "What's going on?" to rapper Ice Spice while being shown on the jumbotron during Super Bowl LIX, which appeared to have a majority of Philadelphia Eagles fans in attendance as the Chiefs were loudly booed during their team introduction prior to kickoff. The singer has also been the target of some NFL fans who have complained about the attention she's received for attending Kelce's games,

Reid, who has known the Swift family dating back to his tenure as the Eagles' head coach, publicly defended the singer numerous times while addressing the scrutiny she's received from some NFL fans. Kelce famously revealed that he attempted to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number when he attended her concert at Arrowhead Stadium prior to their relationship in 2023.

Swift later said that the three-time Super Bowl champion "very adorably put me on blast" when he acknowledged the situation on his podcast, which she said "was metal as hell" while being featured as Time Magazine's 'Person of the Year' in December 2023.
